Where Next?: Beyond Excel Power Query
If you are looking to further your data analysis skills beyond Power Query, then the logical next step would be to dip your toes into Power BI.
Microsoft Excel Power Query can be taught on the following versions: Excel 365, MS Excel 2021, MS Excel 2019 and MS Excel 2016. Power Query does go back as far as Excel 2010 but we would recommend a more up-to-date edition.

Our mobile trainers understand that helping their students to work more effectively is not just a business-oriented goal, it is also empowering for the individual students themselves. As such, our trainers are not just educators, they also champions of the software who endeavour to promote enthusiastic adoption of Excel among those they teach. Before the start date they will discuss with you the goals and objectives of the training and those skill-sets that your team need the most whether they are starting as novice, intermediate or advanced users.

How Many People Should Attend Our Private Microsoft Excel Power Query Courses?
Whilst the number of people who attend our private Microsoft Excel courses is essentially up to you and dependant upon the number of learners you have who need to receive the training (up to our ten delegate per course maximum), we encourage all of our clients to keep your class sizes small where possible. This provides a more personable and effective learning experience for you and allows the trainer to give more individual attention to each and every student.
What is the Teaching Method for Our Microsoft Excel Power Query Courses?
The teaching method for our private Excel courses is Instructor-led training (ILT), which means that our courses are engaging, immersive, hands-on and interactive, and thereby facilitate more effective learning and information retention. With this participatory learning method your staff will retain information better, whether they are studying Excel in-person or via live virtual classroom. And, whilst we are happy to provide lectures, demonstrations and show-and-tells for larger groups (plus drop-in surgeries for ad hoc technical advice and explanation), the instructor-led training approach is by far the most reliable teaching methodology to bring your Excel know-how to life in a small-class-size setting.

Power Pivot and Power Query Terminology in Layman's Terms
1) Slicers provide a means of quickly filtering portions of your Pivot Table data with the click of a button. Slicers give you more control and precision than Excel filters and they can be connected to multiple pivot tables and charts.
2) Excel Data Models enable you to pull in data from multiple tables, essentially enabling you to work with relational data. With Excel Data Models you have the power to work with functionality within a workbook which historically would have required building a database in an application such as Microsoft Access.
3) In Microsoft Excel Power Query enables you to "get" (or connect to) data from external data sources and then sculpt and clean (i.e. "transform") that data. Your edited data can then be brought into Excel to produce reports and charts. Or, to put it another way, the Power Query addon is an ETL integration tool which means that it enables you to Extract external data from multiple sources and then Transform that data before Loading it into a data warehouse (in this instance Excel) for analysis and reporting.
4) There are a number of methods for customising query parameters in Microsoft Excel. With Power Query you can parameterise your data by using the Power Query Editor to define your Dynamic Parameter Tables. This allows you to set parameterised controls upon things such as data sources, filters and even usage. This gives you a level of control within Excel which you could otherwise only expect with applications and languages such as Microsoft Query, SQL and Power BI.
5) Power Pivot is an Excel add-on which enables you to import data from multiple sources in really significant quantities of data which are in the millions (rather than thousands) of rows. It enables you to create data relationships between diverse sources that might otherwise be incongruous with each other and combine them in one Excel Workbook or Worksheet. The data can then be manipulated with formulas to produce Pivot Tables and Charts.
6) With Power Pivot's Diagram View you can administrate the relational connections between the data tables that you have imported into your Excel Workbook.
7) Power Pivot Measures are simply what you would usually refer to as functions within the rest of Excel (SUM, COUNT, AVERAGE, VLOOKUP etc.). They can also be some of the more powerful formulas that you get with the DAX formulas language and its family of statistical and filtering functions for working with relational data.
